Having just finished Night and Day, David Armstrong turned his attention to a series of Polaroids from the 1970s that came to light. Sadly Polaroids would become David’s last book, as he died in 2014 at the age of 60 shortly before it was published.

Polaroids is an intimate portrait into Armstrong’s life, friends and environment, photographed by both him and his friends. The series include Bruce Balboni, Nan Goldin, Lisa Love, Cookie Muller as well as family. The result is a book that feels not like a memorial, but a celebration of his work– a collective portrait full of Armstrong’s vision and life.
