Mona a Barcelona (1980)

This book by Miralda and Llorenç Torrado, published by the legendary Poligrafa, documents the homonymous exhibition held at the Galeria Joan Prats in Barcelona in March and April 1980. Miralda's immersive art installation transformed the gallery into a large chocolate "mona" with the help of local master pastry chefs. It is profusely illustrated and includes a couple of fold-out inserts. It features texts in Catalan, Spanish, and English, and serves as a comprehensive record of this unique, multi-sensorial art event that explored the use of food as a semiotic system and the ephemeral nature of festive art, marking a landmark in Miralda's work and consolidating his artistic practice through the cultural exchange and social identity of food rituals
